Now in its fifth year Channel 4 continues its commitment to innovation, experimentation and new authorship and with the added partnership of Skillset, 2005 promises to be our most ambitious season yet. Our aim is to make 8 challenging and individual films from the best new talent. We'll be looking for strong ideas and voices, originality, boldness and wit. Each film must:
This is not an entry-level scheme. If you are building a track record and have a commitment to forging a career in film and television we want to hear from you. The successful writers will work closely with a producer, who will guide them through the process of taking an idea from treatment to script to screen. The directors will be supported not only by the producer, but will also receive guidance from masterclasses from industry experts. Submissions from multi-cultural and regionally-based filmmakers are encouraged. The slot length is 30 minutes; each film will be shot in a week, on DV in and around London.
