Tutor: Paul Powell.
Paul has worked in TV on several programmes such as, ‘The Lakes,' (BBC) 'The Vice,' (Carlton TV) 'Where The Heart Is,' (ITV) and 'The Bill,' (Pearson TV). He also co-wrote 'Go Now,' with Jimmy McGovern, for  BBC films.

The reasonable cost is because the workshop is part of the Adult Community Learning syllabus of Samuel Whitbread Community College.

This course aims to show how to devise and lay out your own serial idea, from character development to episodic breakdown.  It is aimed at beginners or more experienced writers new to TV screenplay writing.

During the course: The students will work as a group to devise an idea for a TV serial. From the original idea, to character development, and episode breakdown. By the end of the course: The students will understand the difference between TV Serials, TV Series, The Precinct Drama, and Single Drama. How they are devised and how to produce an episodic character graph.

After the course: Students will be able to go away and devise their own series or serial idea, in an interesting and professional manner.  For the first session, all the students will need is a pen and paper, and a willingness to get involved and work as a group in a creative environment.
